Text to Speech Software For those who are slow readers or suffer from eye strain, this could be the answer. Tell your computer what to read, and documents, emails and instant messages will be read out loud to you. Reading Pens and Handheld Scanners Think of this as text to speech in miniature. With a reading pen, individual words or lines from a book are highlighted and read out loud. Handheld scanners transfer text from a book onto the computer screen without you typing a word!
