Reading Pen and Handheld Scanner

Think of it as text to speech technology in a miniature form. Simply highlight the tricky word or line of text with the reading pen and it will read the word out loud to you. You can even ask for a definition of the word if you're not sure of its meaning. Popular with children and adults (some of my younger students aged nine to ten have used this pen and like it a lot) it's small enough to pop in your bag or take to school and use when necessary. Truly mobile technology! If long texts need to be read however, I would advise Text to Speech Software. Pen Scanner 
With a Pen Scanner, or hand-held scanner as they are sometimes known, sections of text can be highlighted - maybe from books in the library - and instantly retyped into your computer. There's no need to manually copy out chunks of print for studying - just highlight the words and the pen scanner does the work for you. This would be a great tool if you are studying and need to make notes from text books. Then I go back and create study notes that I can take with me to my job or anywhere I go without carrying a heavy large textbook. It used to take me 3-7 hours to retype study notes for each chapter and now it takes less than an hour to copy the parts of the chapter I need for reviewing. Tag Reading System 
The Tag Reading System
is a unique touch and talk device that brings stories to life. Children touch the words and pictures and a small camera in the tip 'reads' the pages, enabling children to hear their favourite characters speak, listen to pictures sing and hear the words on the page spoken aloud.
The system works with a library of books and games produced by LeapFrog. This is interactive learning and claims to boost confidence as well as reading levels. Recommended for children aged four to eight year olds, although three year olds seem to love it too!
